BUDAPEST, May 6, 2017 - György Szöllősi, President of the Hungarian Sports Journalists Association, has been appointed by János Áder, President of Hungary, to be the official Ambassador of Hungarian Football Tradition and Affairs concerning Ferenc Puskás.

Szöllősi, who is currently the editor-in-chief at leading daily sport newspaper Nemzeti Sport and the Hungarian edition of FourFourTwo football magazine, is also known as the authorised biographer of Ferenc Puskás, one of the world's greatest ever footballers.

György Szöllősi has been researching the heritage of Puskás and the Magical Magyars for more than twenty years and played a leading role in the foundation of the FIFA Puskás Award in his role as director of the Puskás Institute, the technical centre of the Ferenc Puskás Football Academy located near Budapest.

As Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs Péter Szijjártó has stated, Szollosi's task will be to continue to discover the footprints of Hungary's great football personalities who revolutionised the game around the world during the 20th century and to preserve the legacy of Ferenc Puskás wherever he is remembered.
