Bujumbura, April 10, 2018 - The Association of Amateur Basketball Clubs amateur ball of Bujumbura opened the new season during the Easter weekend with fans turning out in numbers.
Some celebrated mass early in the morning, others chose to do so rather the night before. Everyone organized themselves at best in order to able to watch the matches. And they were right - the ACBAB and the public love the orange ball.
The day began early morning with two simultaneous games: in the womenís competition, Aigle Noir faced Rumuri - a match that culiminated in 54-27 victory for Aigle Nori - and in the menís competition, Muzinga challenged Kern. Kern beat a deserving Muzinga team, 68-57.
Later Dynamo defeated Urunani 49 - 47. In the follow in game, with Mugishaís efficiency at three points throws, Gafyisi, Urunaniís captain, had a hard time to organize his team. Muco - Urunaniís team leader - and Willy Broad - a new recruit who has done wonders - showed great technical skills.
Urunani, narrowly, won against Dynamo 49-47. Dynamo challenged physically with an imposing style, but couldnít contain that challenge until the end. No doubt, Urunaniís ardor was enough to forget a failed season without competing.
At the beginning of the competition, almost all the teams were trying to create cohesion between the players. But nothing has been decided yet. This weekend the finals will be played.
