BOUDEVILLIERS, May 22, 2016 - On 5 August 2016, the flame, celebrating the Games of the XXXI Olympiad will illuminate Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and the entire South American continent, hosting the event for the first time in its history. LOS ANGELES, May 24, 2016 - Fundamental fairness dictates that the Russian athletes must be allowed to compete in the Olympic Games in Rio. To start with the obvious, amid allegations that state-sponsored or -sanctioned doping pervaded the Russian sports system: It’s between a rock and hard place for track and field’s governing body, the International Assn. of Athletics Federations, in trying to decide whether to allow the Russians — the track team is currently suspended — into the 2016 Games.
