SARAJEVO, October 30, 2013 - Sports journalists from the Bosnia and Herzegovina hosted a regional journalist tournament in futsal for the first time. The tournament was held in
Sarajevo, the capital city of Bosnia and Herzegovina, from October 25-27.
The coach of national football team, Safet Susic, and president of the FF of BIH, Elvedin Begic, opened the tournament. Susic and Begic highlighted the importance of Bosnian journalists in the historic success of national team winning a place in World Cup tournament.
The winner of the tournament was the team from Serbia. Their member Mirko
Bunjevcevic won the prize for best player. Bunjevcevic and Ivan Ivanovic from
Montenegro shared a prize for best scorer – both scored six goals.
Bosnia and Herzegovina took second place. The home team beat FYROM, drew with Montenegro, and lost against Serbia.
Third place was FYROM, who beat Montenegro in the final game.
"It's our pleasure to host our colleagues from Serbia, Montenegro and Macedonia. This is traditional tournament, which organizes journalist associations from the Western Balkans. We are hosts for the first time," said Emir Delic, president of the Association of Sport Journalists from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
During the three-day gathering the journalists held a forum: "Fight against hooligans in sport." Opening speeches were given by Mirsad Kebo, vice president of Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Predrag Milinkovic, member of the AIPS Europe Executive Board.
