DHAKA, January 30, 2016 - Mustafa Mamun and Rejwan Uz Zaman Rajib have been elected as the president and general secretary of Bangladesh Sports Press Association (BSSPA) respectively.
Their tenure is for 2016 & 17. The biennial general meeting and the election were held at the Dutch Bangla Bank Auditorium of the Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) in the capital on Saturday, 23rd January at the Bangladesh Olympic Association house with 184 out of 196 voters casting their votes. Kaler Kontho deputy editor Mamun secured 104 votes while Channel 24 Special Correspondent Rejwan earned 106 votes.
The other elected office bearers are vice-presidents—Kazi Shahidul Alam (Daily Ajkaler Khabar) and Talha Bin Nazrul (Daily Manabzamin), joint secretary—Bodiuzzaman Milon (Daily Prothom Alo) and Ashraf Hossain Mithun (Daily Janakantha), finance secretary—Sudipta Ahmed Ananda (Daily New Age), organising secretary—Samon Hossain (Daily Manabzamin), office secretary– Ziauddin Saimum (freelance).The 10 elected executive members are—Ikramuzzaman, Rafiqul Islam Miah, Parvin Nasima Nahar, Sahabuddin Sahab, Sheikh Saifur Rahman, Aminul Haque Mallick, Khairul Islam Shahin, Rakibur Rahman, S.G. Akbar and Rafiqul Islam. Bangladesh Sports Press Association (BSPA) is the largest & oldest sports journalist & writers association in Bangladesh. It established in 1962. BSPA is affiliated to AIPS.
