VIDEO: LA 2028 releases final 'What's Not in the Bid Book' with Casey Wasserman and Mayor Garcetti

LIMA, September 13, 2017 - LA 2028, on the last day of its bid phase, today released the fourth and final episode of its “What’s Not in the Bid Book” video series featuring LA 2028 Chairman Casey Wasserman and Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti taking a hike in the hills of Griffith Park, along the iconic Hollywood sign.

The “What’s Not in the Bid Book” video series offers a view of LA through the eyes of Wasserman, a lifelong Angeleno, and tells the story of why LA is uniquely positioned to connect the Games with a new generation of Olympic and Paralympic enthusiasts in 2028. LA 2028 will engage young adults around the world with the Olympic Movement through its innovation and creativity. The series trailer, first, second, and third episodes together garnered more than four million views across all platforms

In the final video, Wasserman and Garcetti meet on a Griffith Park hiking trail overlooking the Hollywood sign. Sweeping shots of LA throughout the video highlight LA’s breathtaking geography. Their hike becomes a walk down memory lane as Garcetti and Wasserman reflect on their experiences as teenagers during the 1984 Games. Wasserman reminisces about the energy at the LA Coliseum and Garcetti talks about witnessing history watching Carl Lewis’ world-record-setting performances. Their conversation turns to the future as they imagine ways in which LA 2028 can create new historic moments with a new generation of athletes and fans.

LA 2028 Chairman Casey Wasserman said: “I’m happy to share the final episode of “What’s Not in the Bid Book.” Through this series we showcased pieces of LA that make my hometown so special, from the imagination of Hollywood to our innovative and fresh fashion to our healthy outdoor culture.

“In all of our episodes, and through the series itself, we showed that LA has a ready-made connection to the world’s youth, which we will put at the service of the Olympic and Paralympic Movements.”
