Vienna, May 23, 2018 - Hans Peter Trost has been re-elected as the president of Sports Media Austria at the national congress in Innsbruck, Tyrol. Trost succeeded Michael Kuhn in 2014 as president.
Board member Guenter Pfeistlinger retired from the Executive. Pfeistlinger, who has long served sports journalism in Austria, has decided that ‘it is time to say goodbye.’ He will be succeeded as treasurer by his deputy Barbara Gindl. Two more women will join Trost’s new team: Dr. Gabriela Jahn and Anja Richter.
Peter Frauneder and Matthias Stelzmueller complete the Executive Committee as new faces.

Four Veterans of Austrian sports journalism were promoted to honorary members at the general assembly, including the living legend Heinz Prueller, Austria’s leading TV commentator on Formula 1 races and Alpine Skiing. Pfeistlinger, Kurt Raunegger and Ingo Rickl were also bestowed with honorary membership.
During an outstanding gala evening in the castle of Kufstein, Tyrol, the winners of the Sports Media Austria Award – presented by Coca-Cola were elected. Martin Unger from ORF won the main prize for his story “20 years after Hermann Maier”, a documentary about the Herminator’s crash at the Olympics 1998 in Nagano.
