HONG KONG, June 11, 2018 - The 6th Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC) Junior Sports Reporters Programme ended on Monday with a graduation ceremony held inside the Happy Valley Racecourse.
The programme, which is seen as the cradle of local young sports reporters, exposed 40 junior sports reporters (JSRs) aged 18 to 22 to lifetime opportunities with the support from HKJC. Within 5 months, they completed theory classes before taking turns to report on various major local sports events including soccer, basketball, as well as equestrian. The green horns have also joined forces in producing three live webcast.
In the past five years, more the 25 JSRs have chosen this profession (Sports Journalism) as a career.
The contents of the programme cover writing skill, sports photography, TV production, on screen presentation, sports commentary, sports PR and marketing, and development of new media.
The finale of the JSR Training Programme, symbolizes the new milestone of the local youth.
During the training period, four JSRs attended the International YSR Training Camp organised by Hong Kong Sports Press Association in April.
HKSPA will continue its cooperation with HKJC on this meaningful youth programme.
