Final preparations are well in place in Rio de Janeiro to host the Panamerican family 15 months from now, where 2000 journalists are expected to cover these Games.
The organizers will make available Official Media Hotels of 5, 4 and 3 stars.
Apart from the Main Press Centre they will have 31 Media Sub-centres and also one in the Panamerican Village. Construction is completed in 22 sub-centres already.
Media accreditations forms for these Games will be sent out in November 2006 to the 42 National Olympic Committees (NOC), who will be in charge of processing the applications. There will be a quota of accreditations per country according to the level of participation and other criteria.
Rio 2007 is inviting 2 journalists per member country, covering air fare and accommodation for the duration of the Games. These invitations will be handled by the NOCs in each country.
The beautiful city of Rio will be a wonderful frame for one of the largest Multi-Sport Events.
