TIJUANA, April 26
,2012 - The president of the Mexican Swimming Federation (FMN), Kiril Todorov Believes
the next three years will be crucial for Uruguayan Hugo Maglione as president
of the International Swimming Federation (FINA) has to guide the organisation
to the next level.
He added that the 2017 World championships in
Guadalajara looks far away but time is
short because it is a great event, just slightly below the Olympics Games.
While visiting Tijuana, Todoporov emphasized that FINA
granted to Mexico the World Cup 2017 where 204 countries are expected to compete
and the event broadcasted to 3.5 billion viewers. The headquarters,
Guadalajara is the second largest city in Mexico with 1.5 million people but
with a booming metropolitan area of over 4 million people.
Kiril Todoporov also
spoke about the job that the Uruguayan Hugo Maglione has for the sporting organisation" we have take it to
the next level because we dominate the aquatic sports."
The leader emphasized that Tijuana, with its history of just
over 100 years, has had on two occasions, 2008 and 2012, hosted the
divers competition with more chances to win medals in Olympics because it has
water facilities at the height of the great cities and with sports logistics
experts as Saul Castro Verdugo.
In Rome in 2009 the
Dr. Hugo Maglione was elected president of FINA and in that same event as a leader he began a cordial
relationship with the International Sports Press Association ,AIPS as he
also attended the Executive Committee meeting that was held in the ancient Italian
city.
